Narrative
J T Clay and others (incuding the Tarrant County Abstract of Deeds, which also has "Eppsy") spell George's surname "Tummins," but Epsy's tombstone says:
-- Dedicated to the memory of EPSY R. TIMMINS.
-- Consort of G. W. Timmins
-- who departed this life Dec. 28, 1877 age 31 years 8 months
We are allowed to doubt the accuracy of Epsy's birth and marriage dates. Most women at this time did not marry at the age of 9. It would seem that she was born closer to 1836, which would make her the daughter of Elizabeth Darnell, not Louisa Dent (which is the parentage stated by L. T. Clay in his research).
