J T Clay and others (including the Tarrant County Abstract of Deeds) spell the surname "Tummins," but Epsy's tombstone says:
-- Dedicated to the memory of EPSY R. TIMMINS.
-- Consort of G. W. Timmins
-- who departed this life Dec. 28, 1877 age 31 years 8 months
On the other hand, at the old Johnson Station cemetery, there is also a head stone for one Nancy TUMMINS (1815-June-19 - 1867-Oct-16). Is it possible that this was George "Timmin's" mother? If so, then someone couldn't spell. (Hardly the first time...)
On a different note, we are allowed to doubt the accuracy of Epsy's birth and marriage dates. Most women at this time did not marry at the age of 9.
