From Hardyman, Gene & Jeanie, Descendants of William Hardeman from Kentucky:
Fannie like[d] gymnastics and was always trying her stunts - chin ups on limbs of trees, turning somersaults, etc. One time, as she was doing her stunts, she injured herself internally. She couldn't walk, had to crawl for a month or so. She was doctored for a couple of months - then her mind began to 'slip.' ...
Fannie's mind continued to fail her and a few months after the death of her father, Basil, she was sent to the Eastern State Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, where she lived for 26 years, never to return home again.
