Narrative
This would all seem a bit off...
Although clearly listed in the 1910 census as Henry G.'s sister, I can't help but wonder if Willie is
actually his niece. Included at Henry G.'s house are:
-- James M., brother, age 44
-- Rosa L., sister-in-law, age 27
-- Willie J., sister, age 12
-- There is also a Floyd NEWTON, nephew, age 7. All are listed as "white," like Henry,
rather than "Indian" like everybody else in the family. Hmmm...
In the 1900 census, Indian Territory, Choctaw Nation, (Township 8. S. R. 9. E., Sheet no. 15 B),
we find the following listings:
-- Grinslade, Benj; Head; White Male, born Nov 1836, 63 years of age; married 11 years;
born in Indiana, father born in New Jersey, mother in Ohio; Farmer
-- ", Allie E.; Wife; White Female, born June 1867, 32 years of age; married 11 years;
5 children, 3 still living; born in Indiana, father born in Ohio, mother in S. Carolina
-- ", Myrtle [?] ("Jessie B. P." originally written here but crossed out); Daughter, White
Female born Jan 1892, 8 years of age; born in Indian Terr., father and mother born in Indiana
-- ", Willie; DAUGHTER; White MALE, born Feb 1897, 3 years of age; born in Indian
Terr., parents both born in Indiana
I need to come back and compare this with some other data before deciding anything definite --
