Not nearly as well known as nearby, picturesque Stonehenge, the mysterious stones near Avesbury go on for miles and you can actually approach and touch them!
Moments after this picture was taken, a sudden, intense thunderstorm struck. (Maybe they don’t like being touched!) If I could but remember the name of the wonderful pub within muddy running distance of this spot, I would tell you to visit there right now and whenever possible.
