Narrative

Originally named Lou, the town took the name of Dresden late in 1883 then Berwyn in 1887. Berwyn was renamed Gene Autry in the 1940s; it is sometimes referred to by either name. (In documents of the Dawes Commission, the town's name is spelled Berwin.)
